Legal Aid is government funding to help with the cost of legal advice and representation for those who are unable to afford it. If you are in receipt of the following then you may qualify for advice and assistance under the legal aid scheme.
  • Income Support
  • Income based Job Seekers allowance
  • Guaranteed State Pension Credit
You may qualify for legal aid if you are in receipt of a low income.
To determine whether you can receive legal aid, the following would be taken into account:
  • Your disposable income (money left after paying living expenses)
  • Your disposable capital (money, investments or property you could use or sell to pay for legal help)
